STEP BY STEP GUIDE
Before you begin:
Start Pro/ENGINEER
Go to: Help/Technical Support Info & note the following:
Customer no. - this information can be obtained from your license file or system/order administrator
SCN - Service Contract Number. Specific to your software order - enables Tech Support to identify customer details
Pro/ENGINEER datecode - enables you to check the latest buildcode
License name - specific to the package/module of Pro/ENGINEER – helps you manage licenses & different Pro/ENGINEER packages
License type – indicates if your license is floating / locked
License version - identifies the license version you are using (Pro/ENGINEER 2001/ Wildfire 1.0/ Wildfire 2.0/Wildfire 3.0)
Server name - the name of your Pro/ENGINEER license server
Getting started
Create a ptc.com account:
Anyone can create an account – even if you are not on active maintenance! However, only customers with active maintenance contracts enjoy the full range of functionalities.
You will need:
- a valid email address (for your login user ID)
e.g. best@yahoo.com
- a password – of more than 5 characters
You should receive an email immediately confirming the account creation.
Step 1:
Create your PTC account here
Step 2:
Login and Upgrade your account by filling in the following:
Customer no. – to indicate you are a PTC customer
SCN &/Sales PO no. – indicates your Active Maintenance Account status with PTC.
To find the correct SCN, startup your Pro/E, Help/Tech Support Info
If you are unsure about which SCN to use, dial the relevant number for assistance:
Singapore - 1800-8309901 / Malaysia – 1800-801026
Step 3:
Download the latest buildcode of your PTC Software /order the software CD online
Software User Guides – available only as Help files
To install PTC/Help : While installing your software, ensure that you install the Help files. This may take up a few megabytes of disc space but it will enable you to access the Right-click Help facility when you are using Pro/ENGINEER.
Step 4:
Print relevant sections of the Help document - Help is in html format and can only be printed by sections, so select only the sections you need help on and print.
Order Product Documentation: mostly Release Notes/What’s New/ Enhancements etc.
